How to Check for VPN Updates

Overview

This article will help you determine if you have the latest version of the VirtualShield VPN app installed on your device. It will also teach you how to check for upates and how to upgrade if there is a new version available.

In most cases, VirtualShield will update automatically as soon as a new version becomes availble. Alternatively, you can check for updates manually by opening your App Settings.

If you have a slow/weak internet connection or if your device runs on battery, you can also uninstall and re-install the latest version of the Windows app from our website.

How to check for updates on your Windows computer:

Open  VirtualShield VPN and log in to your account, if you are not logged in already.

Select the  App Settings tab to customize your App Settings.

Alternatively you can right-click the  shield icon next to your clock, then select App Settings from the menu.

Your current version will be displayed on this screen. If a new version is available, you can download and install it by pressing the button next to the version number.

If Beta Updates are enabled, you will also receive early-access to beta updates before the official update becomes available.

It's possible you are using an older/legacy version of VirtualShield. Please try installing the latest version of the app and see if it solves your issue.

No, checking for updates manually is entirely optional. It is not required in order to be protected. However, we recommend staying fully up-to-date to ensure your device is secure against the latest threats.
