Overview
Yes, you can! Technically Kodi Boxes are Android devices, but you may not be able to install apps the normal way, from the Google Play Store.
Manual App Setup
Our Android app is only available on Google Play at this time. However, the alternative option is you can download and install the APK (Android Package) file manually.
Compatible with Android version 7.0 and above. If your device is not supported, you can try installing our Legacy Android application instead.
Before you can install VirtualShield manually, you will need to make sure that third-party apps are allowed on your device:
- Open your device's Settings app. It looks like a cog/gear shaped icon.
- Scroll down and tap System Settings. It may just be labeled System.
- Turn on the Unknown Sources option to allow your device to install apps from sources other than the Google Play Store.
Android version 8.0 and above works a little differently. Rather than allowing installation from Unknown Sources, you'll be prompted to allow your device to install APKs the first time you attempt to do so.
Next, open your web browser and visit this link to download the installation file to your device:
Find the VirtualShield.apk file in the location where it was downloaded. Tap it, then hit the Install button.
This file should be located in your Downloads folder.
Congratulations, VirtualShield is now installed on your device. It can be accessed from your device's Home screen or App drawer, alongside your other apps.

Common Questions
Why can't I find these settings on my device?
Make sure your device is fully up-to-date. If your device is not running Android version 7.0 or later, some of the relevant configuration options may not appear.
My device is too old to run the app, what can I do?
If your device is incompatible, it is likely you can run our Legacy app instead. However, we recommend upgrading your system to be fully protected against the latest threats.
