Resetting your Network Settings

If your device is having trouble connecting to the internet or establishing the VPN connection, your network settings might be the culprit.

Your network settings control what your device can connect to and how. Resetting these settings to their default values will likely help your device connect to the internet again.

This mostly applies to Wi-Fi connections. However, corrupted network settings can effect Bluetooth, or even Cellular data/LTE connections as well.

It is not necessary to reset your network settings unless things are not working correctly, or you are instructed to do so by our support team.

If you are using Wi-Fi, there might be an issue with your network settings. These settings can sometimes become corrupted, and interfere with VPN connections.

Luckily, you can reset your network settings at any time. This won't delete any of your apps, photos, or other data. However, it will erase your saved Wi-Fi passwords, and other connection information.

Reset your Network Settings

How to reset the Network Settings on your Mac computer:

Open System Preferences.

To open System Preferences, click the Apple menu near the corner of your screen, then select System Preferences.

In the Network tab, remove your current connection by selecting Wi-Fi, then clicking the minus symbol (-).

Add it again by clicking the plus symbol (+), and selecting Wi-Fi from the drop-down.

Click Create, and then choose Apply to save your settings.

You may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi password after resetting these settings.

Common Questions

I still can't connect to the VPN, what do I do?
Please try following each of the steps in our Troubleshooting Connection Issues article. If that doesn't work, contact us for further assistance.
Why can't I see this option on my device?
