How to Configure your Email client

Overview

If you experience any issues sending or receiving e-mails while you're connected to our VPN service, you may need to adjust some of the settings in your e-mail software.

This article only applies if you're using an app/program such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, or Apple Mail to access your emails.

If you use a webmail service such as Gmail or Hotmail to access your emails, you do not need to make any changes.

Common Questions

?
Why can't I receive emails while the VPN is active?
If you are using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) for your Incoming mail settings, it is recommended that you use POP3 (Post Office Protocol) instead. Contact your e-mail provider for more information about your POP3 settings.
?
My email client is not listed above, what should I do?
If your email client is not listed, changing your Outgoing Server Port is very similar in other apps. Contact our support team or your e-mail provider for further assistance.
