Install the Linux Application
This article will guide you through the simple process of downloading and installing VirtualShield on your Linux laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.
VirtualShield Linux Setup
Follow the instructions below to install VirtualShield on your Linux PC. Once it's installed, it will appear on your Desktop and inside of your Launcher, alongside your other apps.

Visit our Linux Download Page, or click the link below to download the installation files to your PC:

Extract the contents of the
VirtualShieldSetup.zip file to a location on your computer.
We recommend extracting the files to your Desktop.
Tip: You will see a VirtualShieldSetup folder on your Desktop if these files were extracted properly. - 3

Open your
Linux Terminal.
Tip: To open the Terminal, press Ctrl+Alt+T on your keyboard or go to Applications > Accessories > Terminal. - 4

Start the installation by typing or pasting the following command into the Terminal:
~/Desktop/VirtualShieldSetup/install.sh
OR:
sudo bash ~/Desktop/VirtualShieldSetup/install.sh
Tip: Replace ~/Desktop with the location where the contents of the .zip file were extracted. - 5

The
installation process will
complete. Please
do not attempt to close the Linux Terminal during this process.
Note: You will be required to enter your computer's Administrator/SuperUser password. - 6

That's it! You can now open the VirtualShield application from the icon on your
Desktop, and
log in to connect to our
secure network:
