How can I tell if I'm protected?

As long as shield icon appears green when you open VirtualShield, you are fully protected. If you're not connected, this icon will appear red or gray in color:

You can also verify your Protection Status at any time using the link below. This link will work on all of your various devices, computers, tablets, smart phones, and more:

Note: If you're connected to our secure network, the Protection Status page will report your status as Protected. It will also display the IP address and location of the VPN server you are connected to.

If you're not connected, this page will display your actual location. This is the same information other websites, software, and advertisers will be able to see.

Depending on the device you're using, you will also see a slightly different icon to indicate when the VPN connection is active:

Windows


On Windows computers, you will see a green check mark overlapping the application icon:

You will also see a small shield icon in the System tray near the corner of your screen, next to the clock. If you don't see this icon, click the up-arrow next to your clock to Show hidden icons:

Mac


On Mac computers, you will see a small shield icon next to the clock near the corner of your screen. This icon will appear green when you're connected to the VPN, otherwise it will be gray:

Android


On Android devices, you will see 2 icons near the top of your screen. A shield icon on one side, and a key shaped icon on the other. The key icon indicates that you're connected, and the shield icon is our Live App Notification:

iOS


On Apple iOS devices, you will see a small VPN icon near the top of your screen.
This icon will only appear when the VPN connection is active:

If you installed one of our Chrome/Firefox/Opera browser extensions, the shield icon will appear near the top-right corner of your browser:
