How to use Application Guard (Windows)

The Application Guard feature will terminate specific programs of your choice each time you become disconnected from the VPN.

App Guard helps protect your system by shutting down applications that may leak private data across your public network without your knowledge.

Note: You can also close your web browser automatically each time your browsing data is cleared. See this article for more information.

Application Guard

This allows VirtualShield to terminate an application automatically if the VPN connection is lost, regardless if you disconnect manually or not.

This feature is entirely optional, and can be enabled or disabled at any time:

Open the VirtualShield Windows application from the icon on your Desktop:
Tip: If you can't find this icon, navigate to Start > All Apps/Programs > VirtualShield.
Click the cog/gear icon near the corner of the app to open the Settings panel:
Select the App Guard tab near the top of this screen.

Click Add new Application... to add an app to the list of Programs to be terminated:
Locate the program's executable (.exe) file on your computer, then choose Open.

Click the Save button to apply your changes.

Note: You can also remove programs from this list by clicking the Remove selected button.
