Hide to System tray/Taskbar

When you close the VirtualShield Windows application it will continue protecting you in the background, allowing you to use your PC just as you would normally.

If you can't find the VirtualShield app on your computer, it may be running in the background.
To open it again, click the shield icon in the System tray near the corner of your screen:

This icon will appear green when you're connected to the VPN, otherwise it will be red.
If you don't see this icon, click the up-arrow next to your clock to Show hidden icons.

Note: You can use Keyboard Shortcuts to control VirtualShield when it is running in the background.

Hide to System tray

This allows VirtualShield to remain running at all times in order to keep your system protected. You can also choose to disable this option and clicking the X button will exit the software, instead of hiding it.

This feature is entirely optional, and can be enabled or disabled at any time:

Open the VirtualShield Windows application from the icon on your Desktop:
Tip: If you can't find this icon, navigate to Start > All Apps/Programs > VirtualShield.
Click the cog/gear icon near the corner of the app to open the Settings panel:
Inside the General Settings, select the Hide to system tray option:
Click the Save button to apply your changes.

Note: To exit the app entirely, right-click this icon and select Exit from the popup menu.
